Why Agencies Suck at New Business
New business. By many interpreted as “non of your business”. It’s something most of us love to hate and often go great lengths to avoid.
But why really? New business is as much to the benefit of the client as the agency. Bear in mind that all business partnerships begin with that one request: “Could I interest you in a meeting?”
Though not a service we offer at Leanius, new business is indeed something we do. A lot. Because we have to. Like all other companies. Are we good at it? Dunno. Can we learn? Always.
So, when we stumbled upon this article, we knew we had to share it. It’s funny, it’s brutal, but most of all it’s honest. And though much of it is common knowledge, there are still great insights to gain.
Did you know, for example, that 85% of the time it’s the client who actively seeks out the agency? This means that only 15% of all client-agency relationships are initiated by the agency. A potential game-changer in how agencies should advertise themselves. Interesting, right?
